For fun, when I find a topic interesting, and maybe I can’t find too much information about it online, I like to do research, and see what all I can learn about it. Compiling information into an article is a good way to learn, and I find it interesting.

I was curious about the English friend that Charles Darwin stayed with in Valparaiso, Chile when he was on the H.M.S. Beagle. People don’t know where exactly he lived in Valparaiso. I compiled everything I could find into:
Richard Henry Corfield, Charles Darwin’s friend in Valparaiso
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to figure out exactly where Corfield lived, but I did learn a lot quite a bit about him. Maybe someday I’ll be able to find more information in Valparaiso.

A few topics that I hope to learn more about:

Nazi gold in Southern Chile? This is an interesting one.

Darwin and chicha. He thinks he got sick as a result of drinking it with an American, at his gold mine.

A mine ‘El Encanto’ referenced in Oscar Castro’s book Llampo de Sangre.
